Ive only seen this guy get wiped out by a prime Tyson. I know he beat Ali but not yet seen the fight, was he any good. Who would you compare him to? Did he have a good chin and could he punch?

I think in his prime trevor was a well conditioned fighter that was very coachable he had upset win's over john Tate and Pinklon Thomas to win a version of the title. His latter part of his life was filled with controversy and hardship. He even came back to win the Canadian title way past his prime in an upset.
RIP Trevor

He was a well-conditioned fighter with some decent power.Granted, he did hit Big John Tate behind the head, but that fight was somewhat close, and he did end the unbeaten runs of Greg Page and Mitch Green (though there are a few who feel Green won that encounter). He really mauled Page bad, taking about 8 out of 10 rounds.

He had one of the weaker world titles.
Berbick beat Muhammad Ali in his last bout, that being his most famous match.
He fought Holmes and went 12 rounds to lose by SD.
They had a pretty angry feud which lead to a parking lot fight. He ended 49-11-1 and was unfortunately murdered in Jamaica. Berbick also has wins over Greg Page, Pinklon Thomas (how he won the title.) Berbick was also the Canadian world heavyweight champion. His bout with Tyson is how he lost the strap.
He was pretty decent and a worthy contender. I don't believe he was a big puncher, more accumulative like Bernard Hopkins but a bit rougher when he wants. (see how pissed he is when he swings at Larry Holmes.)

Berbick was a strong awkward fighter. His chin was good but not "real good". He was stopped early in his career by Mercardo and was floored by Snipes and later Rahman, all in the early rounds. He was a good contender and for a time fought everyone but that was an era where top contenders fought each other. His strength and awkward style enabled him to break Holmes knockout streak and upset Pinklon Thomas. Unfortunitely he might be rememberd today as the guy Tyson knocked down three times with one punch or the guy Holmes dropkicked in a parking lot after a press conference but he was an entertaining heavyweight in his time.
I still remember the time he fought comebacking Big John Tate! Wild times!
