I would add spinks and Michael Moore to the list as well. Michael Moore was really a light heavy who came up to heavy, beat one of the best cruisers/heavyweights (Evander) and then could not hold non to it. Charley Burley was also on that short list...the man totally owned Archie Moore repeatedly!

I don't think I can really rank them though... All these guys had attributes and some of the best of them could jump up and take out a weak heavyweight when necessary. On this account Michael Moore stands out because when he beat Evander he beat a guy who became a HOF level heavyweight....If I recollect Bob Foster could not do the same (with Ali?) and Jones beating Ruiz was not quite the same.
I'll take exception to that and say that Moorer was really a heavyweight who shrunk himself down to 175 for as long as he could. He was a bigger guy than most people think.

There is nobody on Moorer's resume at light heavy that would get him even into the top 20.

We're talking about Michael Moore, not Michael Moorer.

Michael Moore made several pieces of ******* crap movies.

Yes, he didn't weigh in at LHW that often but he defeated many a great LHW. Most of his best wins are against them.

Had Moorer not moved up to Heavyweight he would have ruled the LightHeavies for a good while. I got to see a few of his light heavy fights at Cobo in Detroit when he was coming up, he was a monster.

Bill Millers-rip- favorite was easily Ezzard Charles, he held him in very high regard.......... Rockin'

Could have he beat guys like Archie Moore, Foster and Spinks?

Hard to say without film but I don't think so.

The kind of LHW's he were facing weren't the most powerful, they were very skillful. People like Loughran, Tunney, Rosenbloom etc were a lot smarter than they were powerful. Those matches would be a case of Greb overcoming their smarts via pure pressure and volume.

However I think he would have trouble with the likes of Foster and Spinks who hit very, very hard. He wouldn't be able to just windmill in like usual without taking hard leather. I'd take all the fighters you mentioned by KO against Greb.
