Hailow, you think I do not know that? Of course it is banned. It is banned by the Thai government. Which is exactly why I said MMA is hugely popular in Thailand. Once you ban something, its popularity and demand starts to rise. Its like the Prohibition era America. Al Capone made a fortune out of that.

Another thing...the fall in popularity of boxing is probably a very big reason for the rise of the MMA. People need to see good fighters. Boxing wasn't delivering. Who would they turn to? WWE?

"When it gets to that stage ill probably watch it more but id always pick a big boxing match over a big mma fight." - I know! We are huge boxing fans! But think from a neutral point of view. They would most definitely choose MMA because of all the hype.

calm down ***head, I said I would prefer it, I know mma is on the rise but boxing wont die, the fact that theres so many guys that will fight ur point proves that the fans are still there and always will be, its the HW devision that's getting a bit dull but theres still guys like haye and chisora that love the sport and are trying to bring a bit of excitement back and you have to respect the klitchkos. Boxing is not a sport that's only been around for 100 years or so, its 4000 years ago that they started to use gloves, its the most basic and traditional stand up fight

          I can tell you this:

I'll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I watch mma. I would rather see two 0-25 boxers in a boxing ring than two world champions in a cage humping each other until one of them achieves a full mount.

I have made this post on a boxing forum, the forum would not be called a boxing forum if there weren't boxing fans in it, you know?

SBleeder, you sure those two are guys?

Are you here to discuss how boxing could grow or become a better sport, or are you here to simply try and bash boxing popularity (which is growing World wide) and try to hype MMA (which is also growing)????

If it's the second option, you're really wasting both your own and our time.

Why the hell would I want to bash boxing? I'm starting to think some people aren't really getting the point I'm trying to make.

I heard they used to shove metal in the gloves to create more splatter lol, and if no1 was unconscious or dead by sundown, they would have to stand there and take each others shots. Men back then would of made holyfield look like Justin timberlake
