I respect Lennox Lewis 100%. A truly GREAT champion in any era and certainly one of the very best of the post Ali era dreadnought sized champions!!!! Who could deny it?
But Liston???? Liston would struggle with or lose to a few guys in the historical standings, who Lewis would overcome. That's how it is when splitting the hairs at the top. But stylistically, Sonny Liston becomes KRIPTONITE for the tall, angular, broad shouldered Brit. He survives what Lewis can dish out and clips him, eventually.

I guess some people are thinking, If Ali can do that to Liston Lewis can. Wrong! Lewis is nothing like Ali. No one here is saying that Lewis is not a great fighter, He is. On the other hand, Liston is no push over. Very good fighter who like Lewis has been in with the best of his era. Liston looked slow against Ali. He wouldn't be that slow against Lewis. That Liston jab would cause trouble for Lewis and set up the power right hand. As my fellow posters Willie Pep and Willow, the wisp has pointed out. If we're going to talk boxing at least know what you're talking about. When I talk about a heavy jab.
