the WBO was not a world title back then. it was nothing more then a regional title. it gave you a top 10 ranking in the WBC i believe. everyone outside of europe would vacate that title to get a world title shot. the WBO belt started getting recognized as a world title around 2005. before then it was a paper title like the NABF or EU belt.
