On Marciano being compared to Dempsey
''How silly can they get? He shound't be spoken in the same breath with Dempsey''

-at the time it was true, Marciano didn't have his signature wins

''Marciano is a amateur, He woundn't have qualified for Joe Louis's bum of the month tour'' I'll knock him out''--Nice touch this...

    - Walcott did brutalize Marciano quite a bit before he got ko'ed, and a lot of people were writing Marciano off at that time (too small, no reach, easy to hit)

On Leading up to the fight
    ''I feel good''--Cool

"If I don't beat Marciano take my name out of the record book."

    - Walcott was a superior boxer and he felt he would handle Marciano easy, but he didn't, he underestimated him I guess

"I can beat him every time. I can trick him into any move I want to make. I’d like to fight him again tomorrow or any time."--After Joe Louis 1st fight.

    - exactly what he did, Walcott lured Louis into leading so that he could counterpunch him

He did give a lot of excuses which are not classy too. Here is so much for sportsmanship after losing the second.

''I thought I had Louis. Then the referee kept telling me to come out and fight. He didn’t tell Louis – just me. It got me confused. I changed my style of fighting and this happened. I only remember that first punch – a right to the head. They say he hit me some more – I don’t remember.”

    - the ref favorizing Louis is not something that should surprise anyone, Walcott was robbed after all the first time around, and I do think that the ref maybe was telling to Walcott to fight because Walcott wanted to lure Louis again in leading, but Louis didn't fall in that trap the second time, so there were some long moments without punches, and Walcott was forced to lead more than he wanted to

Walcott also was kind enough to let the Ring ****zine know that he was worried that working men with family would gamble their grocery money by betting on the Rock..

    - that's just funny to me

After getting KOd in 1 by the Rock in their second fight Walcott did again just...well complain

    - what did he say ?
    and source please ?

Nothing trashy really, more just banter.
this is more about underestimating his opponents than trash talking

"Marciano is a amateur, He woundn't have qualified for Joe Louis's bum of the month tour'' I'll knock him out'' ==This isn't a nice touch nor banter sorry mate.

The Rock was undefeated at that time and also beat Louis, Layne by KO who had both beaten Walcott. He had also beaten Ted Lowry. What was the need to get ****y I ask sir? When you see a guy handling whatever the age it may be of your conquerors easily, you don't get ****y and start mouthing of about him. So I don't politely agree with the statement he didnot have any signature wins.

To The Starter of this Thread:-

Walcott did brutalize Marciano quite a bit before he got ko'ed, and a lot of people were writing Marciano off at that time (too small, no reach, easy to hit)--> Now, Now you are saying that since he actually did hit maciano a lot of times this is okay? Right so did Duran and Ali to their opponents after all the trash talk thats all right too?

Against Louis Walcott was fool to accept the ref and do what he said, he could have carried on, acknowledging the ref.

Well the ring ****zine info can be found in the ring ****zine already ain't it.
There are lots of sources that you just have to search to confirm these my man. Just google it if you want to confirm. Still you can use this

If you tell me today Walcott was a great fighter accepted, but if you just let us know he was all classy and humble always its not so. Fact is fact. He did say some things that are not humble, whatever way the Rock was at that time, saying those kinds of things about a fighter isn't classy either, funny it might be. And making excuses after a fight isn't one of them either. Just take a look at Hearns to see what a real class act should be.

Still we do agree Walcott was a god fearing man and was a great boxer.A top 15 anyways you cut the slice. I am not against that mate
        Cheers!
