When exactly have you ever seen GOOD computerized ratings? Even the people who run boxrec know the ratings are crap. IBO ratings are also computerized, they're even worse than boxrec.

Seriously, it's Rinty Monaghan. His record was pretty average considering his level of opposition. Had he went undefeated he'd have a case. But as it stands he has none whatsoever.

Firstly, it's the professional HoF. Amatuer acheivements, however great, have nothing to do with it.

Secondly, Ottke was on the good end of a million dodgy and outright wrong decisions. He had a solid skillset, but his power was non-existant. He was a good fighter, but stats are misleading.

You might want to check that Wikipedia list again.

Sadly the wikipedia page is updated more than that site. But at least control-f wouldn't have missed it there.

                photo of Dan Rafael's ballot:
It's hard to to pick. So many of them are deserving. The three first timers are all definite HOFers and many of the return nominee list either are already World Boxing HOFers and also certainly deserve their entry into the IBHOF. Like *****, I'm surprised that Jackson and De Jesus haven't come up yet. I think both are already WBHOFers...

Anyway, the guys that deserve to get in (in my opinion of the guys I know about) from the return list are Hilario Zapata, Myung Woo Yuh, Wilfredo Vasquez, Ernesto Marcel, Sammy Serrano, Donald Curry, Naseem Hamed, Carlos Hernandez, Hiroyuki Ebihara, 'Happy' Lora, Pone Kingpetch, Horacio Accavallo....That's enough for now. I can't be bothered thinking anymore.

Some of the other guys are very hard. They would beat some great fighters but lose to a lot of them too, maybe more than won, so it can be difficult. Kid Tunero is a perfect example. He was the first guy to beat Jose Basora, and Ezzard Charles I think. He beat Holman Williams too, but he lost to him three times too and lost about a third of his fights overall.

Yoko Gushiken, Masao Ohba, Georgie Abrams, Joey Archer, Jose Bacerra....well, everyone on that list were really great fighters. Do they all deserve to be in the HOF though? Probably not. You've really got to know the era they fought in, know their opponents well, who they beat, when and how.

Another guy I forgot to name, Alabama Kid. Fought from Flyweight to Heavyweight. Fought and beat world class opposition from Middleweight to Heavyweight.

He was the Negro Middleweight Champion. He beat Gorrila Jones to win the title. Jones I might add is already in the HOF. Surely Alabama Kid will now follow. He's 2-0 against Jones overall.

Ottke definitely deserves to be inducted at some point.
