Here's 10 guys that need to get in eventually....maybe not the first 10, but eventually they need to get in. Could sub 5 out and add 5 more easy.

    Julio Cesar Chavez
    Mike Tyson
    Lucia Rijker
    Cocoa Kid
    Julian Jackson
    Esteban De Jesús
    Donald Curry
    Kostya Tszyu
    Georgie Abrams
    Pascual Perez

Pretty sad how the people in bold aren't return nominees. Sadder the one italicized gets overlooked for being a woman.

      Pissed Eddie Booker isn't there.

I'd vote for Cocoa Kid, Julio Chavez, Tyson, Kostya, Dave Sands, Tiger Jack Fox, Donald Curry, Johnny Bratton, Abrams, Hilario Zapata and Vasquez.

I'm disappointed that Antonio Esparragoza isn't on the ballot. I feel he was a HOF fighter.

Freddie Mills, really? I've seen his documentary. I like him as a fighter. But I could probably count on 2 hands how many Americans like myself know him. Furthermore I'm pretty sure Freddie himself doesn't think he deserves to make the Hall.

Just cuz people think he coulda been great is not grounds for HOF induction.

Chavez, Tszyu, Tyson, Hamed, and Curry. I'd have to do some reasearch on some of those old time and Asian fighters. I saw Rafael Herrera fight live and he was an excellent bantamweight. But you can't justify voting for him by his record.

I know very little about Rinty Monaghan, but I'd have to say he's pretty damn obscure and doesn't warrant Hall induction either.

Herb Goldman ranked Monaghan as the #16 All-Time Flyweight in 1987. I don't think anyone rated after 8 or 9 on that list is even in the HOF however. Monaghan didn't rate very well when he was active either. He didn't break the annual ring ratings until 1939, placing @ #10. That was the last year of his career.

is in the Hall of Fame. He was Inducted in 1995.

Yesterday, I received my ballots for both the Modern and Old-Timers categories.

I really can't tell you how I am voting because I have been Officially named the Boxing Historian of the Boxing Writers Association of America.

Here's the letter that went out to all the BWAA members:

Joining the process will be Henry Hascup, who serves as the President of the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame and is on the board of directors of Ring 8 among, other things. Henry has graciously offered the BWAA his services as a resource historian, much the way Hank Kaplan did when he helped many writers until his death. Like Kaplan was, Hascup is one of the foremost historians in the world. He also has vast archives that he will share with us for research purposes when we are writing a story, etc. Hascup will be available to help BWAA members throughout the year. He can be reached at hhascup@yahoo.com.
