i guess knocking out bums & a glass jawed kevin kelley makes you tommy hearns.
Sorry mate i gotta disagree ...his punching power was something we can be sure of ...the guy had some huge power ..Manny Stewart will tell you that...he recon that Naz could punch harder or just as hard as lennox on the pads and he should know hes said many times that nassem hamed was one of the hardest punchers he eva held the mits for ..you need to watch this video as theres no doubting the guys power ¬

This guy had shocking power, seriously shocking!

His style was something between brawling and boxing - finding unique angles to give and receive maximum input shots, and have the nerve to get up smiling every time he was decked in a "You're gonna pay for that" kind of way.
Nearly all of his fights contained something you'd rarely or never seen before..
I firmly believe that without the personality issues he'd have achieved massive popularity & been a dead cert for the hof.. As for ATG?.. Well ATG's come back from defeats, so imo he doesn't even qualify tbc for that honour.

Spot on. Of course he was a absolute beast, power wise. Who is MS to decide who can hit hard? lol

Manny just confirming what most people already knew.
You only have to study the way Hamed throws his power shots. They're all off the back foot from a limbo stance, stooping on enormous legs that are by far the biggest i've ever seen on a featherweight and were ultimately the springboard for launching his rockets. Sure, there were several flaws in his game but to deny his power is purely dillusional.
He was a monsterous puncher at FW.

I think the problem is that people want a reason to hate the guy. He was ****y, arrogant, and over confident, and some people just don't like that, so they look at his only loss and use it against him. I'd personally say he was one of the greatest of all time for his weight with no hesitation.

He did to boxing in the 90s, what Ali did in the 70s and Tyson did in the 80s

monstrous puncher my asss. his power was grossly overrated just like his skills. He can punch sure, he has power but to say he is a "monstrous puncher" is a bit much. He never knocked out anybody noteworthy. Please spare me the kevin kelley & augie sanchez answer.

I dont deny his power, i deny his monstrous featherweight tommy hearns level of power you guys claim he possesses.

                btw,

pac's calves & legs dwarfs hamed:

Your wrong ...Hamed had long retired when Manny stated in that boxing ****zine that Hamed was the biggest puncher (I think he meant p4p) he eva held the mitts for !
He said it in an interview with boxing monthly about 6 years ago and many times since !
BTW the pic you posted of pacs legs was taken when pac was much heavier than Hameds natural featherweight fighting weight ! Besides naz had bigger natural legs
Hamed was a huge puncher...thats whys manny said what he said and why hamed is in the ring ****zines p4p punchers list !
As was said by a few other posters on this thread...love him or hate him...that boy could **** !

What would you say to both Wilfredo Vasquez Sr and Wayne McCullough, both of whom said that Hamed was the hardest puncher they ever faced? Considering the competition both faced, that is high praise indeed.

He was a bit like Jackson. Had flaws coming out his eyeballs but his power made up for it all. It's the one undeniable fact about Hamed, much as I hate the ****.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find 10 genuine featherweights who had better one-shot stopping power than Naz.
