His family had enough money to move out of the city and into Palmer Park, which at the time was a great DC area suburb. It was mostly white people around there then and there is still a good mix to this day

Oscar De La Hoya? Not sure, but I've heard he didn't exactly come from poverty.

Really? I thought HAgler was form Lower Class because he hated SRL's guts. Im not sure though, can you show me any documents? Im confused

Mental toughness isn't based on how wealthy you are, it's just who you are as a person, im middle class and im a pretty decent fighter, i know guys who have yachts, some suck at fighting others are good, it depends on the person.

I'm pretty sure he was poor as ****.

Barrera was, however, reasonably wealthy. Still mean like a hornet, though. Never seen a fighter who was as singularly nasty.

non truly came from good backgrounds.

Even Barrera was middle upper class by Mexicos standards, nothing like NA.

Same for SRL, middle class for a black family. nothing like nowadays.

                  Joe Calzaghe

Obviously the Klitschko's grew up in communism etc...having a dad as a general pretty much put them pretty damn wealthy.

At the top levels, unfortunately, that's simply not true. Someone who was born with a silver spoon, who had all their needs catered to and who never had to work until their teenage years, would be at a severe disadvantage to someone like Roberto Duran who had to work and scrounge, and fight, for a living. The roughness of the lifestyles is just too different. That's why when a four-year-old upper class boy falls down and grazes his knee he starts crying, but a low class boy, say in Mexico, would just ignore the pain and carry on.

Reasonably wealthy, yes. But only a middle class Mexican. He was not what someone would call "rich".
