Is Josh Taylor the Weakest Undisputed Champion?

Taylor reigned as the undisputed light-welterweight champion, unifying all four major titles in the division and being only the sixth male boxer to do so.

Taylor became the second Scotsman to be an undisputed champion and the first Briton to do so in the four-belt era.

Taylor had a quick rise to the top and fast fall down.

We are only talking about 4 belt undisputed champions ( so no Zab Judah) and most don't consider george kambosos jr/ Teo as undisputed.

Does Josh Taylor still make it into the hall of fame if he retires today ?

If hes not the weakest undisputed champion, post your response.

Bernard Hopkins unified all four middleweight titles in September 2004.

Jermain Taylor won all four middleweight titles from Hopkins in July 2005.

Terence Crawford unified all four titles in two weight classes—light welterweight in August 2017 and welterweight in July 2023.

Oleksandr Usyk unified all four titles in two weight classes—cruiserweight in July 2018 and heavyweight in May 2024.

Josh Taylor unified all four light welterweight titles in May 2021.

Canelo Álvarez unified all four super middleweight titles in November 2021.

Jermell Charlo unified all four light middleweight titles in May 2022.

Devin Haney unified all four lightweight titles in June 2022.

Naoya Inoue unified all four titles in two weight classes—bantamweight in December 2022 and super bantamweight in December 2023.

Artur Beterbiev unified all four light heavyweight titles in October 2024.

Dmitry Bivol won all four light heavyweight titles from Beterbiev in February 2025.

Only eleven men have held all four versions of the belts at the same time, three of whom have been the only male boxers to have done so in two divisions.

I can't explain the compulsion to defend Josh but I can admit to it. I want to tell you, you are wrong, but I have no good reason. He damn well is bro. Good looking out too.

I actually like Josh too. It definitely was a fun Rollercoaster of a career. He had nice run to the top then just hit a wall and fell off. I think he was scared to moved up to 147lbs.

I thought he was destined for greatness but just fell right off a cliff.

It did look like that. I honestly think he left it at the scale. I think he knew he was too small for 147lb and killed him self. He looked like a shell of him self in that Jack fight ( first fight ) then really really bad in that teo fight.

                It is a shame.

I have never seen a fighter tank so quickly.
