Sip you beer and lay back. We'll get back to boxing. We're just a couple of old guys being old.

Ty Cobb, unlike Charlie Hustle, was a horrible human being.

IMO, the least defensible selection in the history of this Hall. It lowers the bar in an almost comical way. If your best wins are Haugen and Dele, with shutout prime losses to good not great fighters like Mayweather and Garza, and that's Hall worthy, there is no real bar to entry (and this exposes that in a big way anyways. You don't even need a 50% threshold for entry and I'd be curious to see if his even hit that. Top 3 vote getters mandatory opens the door to some very low totals).

You forgot the historic knockout of the legendary Dana Rosenblatt...

Is there a particular criteria for entree? I can't seem to find one. That said, it was Vinnys popularity and entertainment value that got him in. If it was based on resume, I'd agree, but I'm not sure that is the case. If Willie Pastrano and Jess Willard can be in, a case can be made for Paz.

                - - Rose on his wedding night went home with his bride and Johnny Bench leaving his bride on their wedding night upstairs in their bedroom whilst Rose and Bench got roaring drunk shooting pool all night into the next AM.

Now, Ty could beat up Rose and most all adult males in his day if that's what you call a horrible being, but on his wedding night and well into his honeymoon, he was completely devoted to his wife and no other...

I always recommend Ty Cobb: A Terrible Beauty, it still portrays a younger Cobb as a firecracker and ready to fight at a drop of a hat. But basically dispels the myth of him being a racist, which Al Stump created after Cobb's death to sell books. It also continues to point out how charitable Cobb was and used his millions to help support some in need.

Didn't Cobb use part of his money to have his head preserved after death, or was that a different baseball HOFer?

I THINK . . . that was a story tossed around regarding Ted Williams. But is not true.

In Cobb's day they were still dying from the clap.
