    Tiger Lambert

I’m looking for any information on the boxer Tiger Lambert , who’s boxing career went from 1937-1941, real name Arthur Lambert
My grandpa was adopted and I’ve recently found out that is his dad
Id really like to see a photo of him, so he can see it. Any knowledge about his fighting style would also be appreciated

No pictures, but here his record.

    Here's more...

He fought pretty much exclusively in Maine. I thought he may have fought in RI as the was a hotbed for boxing back then, but his only fight outside of Maine was in Fall River Massachusetts.

He fought Johnny Lawless five times and his brother Carl Lawless once.

There is on his record a Young Dempsey, a Young Fitzsimmons, a Young Yannagan, Young Gagne, Young Daily, Young Bryon, Young Laney, Young Brown Bomber and Billy KO Brown. He fought most two or three times.

Tiger made his debut against a debuting Tiger (Walsh).

      The names sound bogus.

So were these guys all fighting one another in some small town in Maine? Are they cousins?

A lot of fighters used to take the names of great fighters before them. A few even panned out...Jack Dempsey, Joe Walcott.

this thread is a true example of a great forum where educated members help shine a light on lesser known historical boxers and all add to the discussion showing dignity to each other.
