It's a shame Ike went off the rails and sabotaged his own career. He may have been something special. The potential was most definitely there. Just not enough experience for me to pick him here. I wouldn't pick him against Vits either, though I may against Wlad. Him and Golota would have behaven interesting and fun fight.

For the rest...
- Beat the drugged corpse of Tyson (and he's bragging about this "legacy-defining win" to this day)
- Was not that impressive against Holyfield, both times
- Was behind against Bruno before finding a Hail Mary to save him
- Went life and death with Mercer and Vitali
- Was almost knocked down by Shannon Briggs.
In a nutshell: Lewis is overrated.

I disagree. Ibeabuchi never proved he could beat a bigger man. If one handed Tua could land on him at will I gotta believe Lewis would do the same. Ike was a good puncher, but usually not a one punch knockout artist. He stopped guys thru attrition. It's easy to dismiss Lewis if you just look at the Rahman and McCall losses. But if we take both at their best.....I like Lennox experience to beat Ibeabuchi by decision or possibly a mid rounds stoppage after hurting him with something he doesn't see.

Ok seriously. Fact of the matter is: lewis beat a lot of fighters who held a lot of promise... Grant was touted, Razor Ruddock was going to destroy him, Shannon Briggs was a very hot prospect when Lewis fought him... Was Ibeabuchi, what we know of him really much better at the time than what we thought of these prospects?
I say this as a reformed Ibeabuchi fan... Like Liston the man was seemingly crafted to be a heavyweight fighter, and his abilities to hang in there, to punch hard, and to keep coming forward... But lewis has actual experience on his side and if you read the glowing reports on Briggs for example, or Golota, etc... Was the president truly better?Last edited by billeau2; Today, 01:29 PM.
