No announcement yet.
Are todays heavyweights (Joshua, Dubious, Joyzce. Zhang, Fury etc) slower punchers than the 70s and 80s fighters?

Which means they were around the same height as Jack O'Halloran but lighter. Both Zhang, Joyce, and you can even add Bakole who weighed 229 earlier in his career are out of shape. Most heavyweights now days are.
But Joyce is really slow, Zhang is slow, Dubois is slow, Joshua is slow, Tyson Fury is slow but slightly faster than the guys I just named and even Usyk isn't fast. He also isn't busy and is extremely inaccurate with his punches.

If I were to categorize them:
Joshua exhibits average speed
Joyzce is slow
Dubious is low average to average speed
Zhang is low average (but heavy mass)
Usyk many punches but only moderately explosive
Furys hand speed is a average
The one guy I feel has good hand speed is Parker
And of course Wilder, but I wouldn't say he's fast all round.
Frank Sanchez excellent speed
Joshua exhibits above average speed
Joyce is slow. Agreed.
Dubious is average, but the dirty man is quick with his head
Zhang is his prime had quick hands
Usyk has fast had speed. Like a 8 out of 10.
Fury's hand speed is decent.

Usyk beat Chisora, only landed 160 punches in 12 and only landed 30 something percent of his punches. He barely beat a shop word Chisora while David Haye destroyed a prime Chisora. Anthony Joshua is slow and robotic and his best wins were against a old Wlad and a old Povetkin. If beating Joshua made you great then wouldn't it mean Andy Ruis a ATG as well? Usyk beat Dubois the same Dubois who lost to slow Joe Joyce and almost got stopped by Kevin Lerena for crying out loud. So Usyk beating him means Usyk is a ATG? Lol then Usyk beat druggy fat Tyson Fury who best win in his career came against a 40 year old Wlad. So Usyk beating him mean Usyk is a ATG? The hilarious thing about it Usyk didn't land a high percentage of his punches in any of these fights.

Lol because of the low level of composition he faces. it is like saying since Tye Fields had over 40/50 wins in his career then he must be a good fighter. This is why people of European decent shouldn't be allowed to talk boxing. I never seen a more clueless group of people in my life.

Chisora was coming in the Usyk fight with wins over Spilzka and David Price. He's currently #17 on Boxrec and was a steady top 10 rated fighter for most of his career.
I'd agree that now after Flubber did him in, he has that vacant 1000 yard stare of a soldier suffering from shell shock now defined as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), yet he fights on for his family.
