yes we should because Ray Arcel knows a lot about boxing and has 100x the experience to form an opinion. or at least acknowledge what hes saying. hes likely exaggerating to get a point across.

He saw Dempsey fight live, and when watching newer fighters he just sees how they do everything wrong, and exaggerates by saying Dempsey would clean them up in 2. Dempsey would beat many of them, but not demolish them.

Arcel and blackburn clearly understand boxing on the absolute highest level though, this would be pure ignorance to write their opinions off.

No, it would be pure folly to believe, that they somehow were so knowledgeable, that their opinions should count for more than yours or mine. All old-timers fantasize about the good old days, when everything was better than today. The boxers they worshipped when they grew up, have a tendency to almost grow into god-like figures, as the decades pass on. Maybe it's part of human nature to let your mind play tricks on you like that... we just shouldn't take such opinions (like Arcel's over-the-top adulation of Dempsey) too seriously.

Lol Usyk is 6'3 199-200 pounds. Usyk is way bigger than Greb. Also Usyk is far more skilled than Greb or any other boxer from that time frame. Yeah I am going to put you on ignore. It is kind of like how Bert Sugar had 170 pound Gene Tunney on the list of greatest heavyweights of all time even though Tunney isn't a heavyweight by modern standards but Bert Sugar didn't have Lennox Lewis ranked in the top 10.

Hello everyone, my two favorite things to do is get tore up and talk boxing. I took 3 hits of some shatter and now am on mars. Back to topic. first of all to be real Louis would turn Gerb inside out. bigger stronger faster. What else is there? Also I've been on many boxing boards over the years. Tens of thousands of posts. I never heard not one person who would pick someone other another because of race. We are boxing people. we go by facts and that's it. Peace to all.
