Modern Fighter (1920-2022) Knocked Down The Most

Of course we cannot include fighters from the era where they often went down to get a rest, since a knockdown signaled the end of the round.

We also had better stick with pretty good fighters, since there are bound to be some scrubs who were knocked down a hellacious number of times and hardly ever won a fight. We should at least relegate scrubs to their own special category.

Benitez was knocked down a lot for a great fighter nicknamed El Radar, but I am sure he is going to be a record breaker in this thread. Some of you boys with good source books can probably get this one. I have no idea about it, the subject seemed like a good idea for a thread that I may not have seen before. Go, Hop Sing.

    I know this . . .

Ezzard Charles (The Cincinnati Cobra) a total of 30 times in 12 fights

Worst of the noted HWs - maybe? We'll see.

Arturo Gatti used to get dropped but it's not about how many times you got dropped

It about how many times you persevered and kicked that ass...................RIP

I have him at number 5 all time p4p. His resume is amazing as we're his fighting skills.

Wow! That is amazing. And here I was proud of Patterson with 13 that I know of against only two fighters in five fights. Now tell me, was ol' Floyd knocked down by anyone other than Liston and Johannson?

Ezzard was in more than 12 fights. I need to know the total number of times he was knocked down in his pro career. Did you just give it to me? Was he knocked down in only twelve fights and for a total of thirty times? That would be best for my simple calculations.

Right. And for statistics another useful measure would be how the knockdowns were spread out, or were they heavily clumped in only a few fights, like Patterson's? Still waiting for any reports of additional knockdowns against Patterson, other than the nine by Johannson and the four by Liston.
