Tua at any time, any distance.
So, you’re saying you wanted to see Toney fight David Tua?

I'd have been most excited to have seen Toney v McClellan but I'd actually have been most interested to see Toney v Hopkins - if that makes sense?!

However, I also see a Toney+Hopkins fight probably being a bit of a stinker, as Hopkins would have just tried to con and steal his way to a points win.

But, if the best 160/168 Toney showed up, I'd have taken him to beat all four of the fighters you listed.

I was a big fan of Toney at 160/168, and still have massive admiration for his skills and "fight anyone" attitude. But by the time he was at cruiser the steroid use was obvious and tarnishes his legacy, at least for me.

It would be kind of crazy if Toney somehow managed to pull off a win at that age, something neither Eubank, Jones or even Hopkins could do against Calzaghe.
Joe ended his run at light heavyweight if I remember. Toney may have been at heavyweight by then, but I dont remember

Only one thing about Toney actually interests me more than a drizzle--how much of a punch can he really take? I would want to see him in against guys like Marciano and Tua. Not that he could actually beat them--he cannot even beat the very best of any division. But the intriguing question is: can he take the punch of monsters, and slip and slide enough to survive against them. He does have some slipping and sliding counter punching ability along with his chin.

            I would highly doubt it.

Toney has one of the all time great chins, there’s no doubt about that.

But he’s who’s the hardest hitter he’s fought at HW? Peter. Whilst Peter can punch he’s hardly a devastating puncher.

Any top level HW likely stops him. Especially the all time Heavyweights.

              - - SuperJoe ended Roy's streak as a top rated contender at LH.

Years before after Vander turned down WBA champ Roy to have his streak as a top contender ended by Toney. Roy never defended that title that Ruiz reclaimed with a Fast Fres KO in a purt fair fight between a pair of Puerto Ricans.

My dream would've been at a Toney presser when angered over questions about his growing rotundage, challenged the scrum of writers to a spar, and nary a one volunteered.

I'd have jumped all over that for a load of fun. TwoTon by that point was barely more mobile than potted plant and starting to eat punches like buckets of fried chicken which is why he is so incoherent today

From what I recall Roy dropped it because the WBA ordered him to face Ruiz in a rematch.

                  - - He dropped it because 1-He was never going to earn his $100 mil defense purse vs Lewis or Tyson. 2-He was never going to be one of DKing stooge fighters. There was a negative $0.00 public interest in the Ruiz rematch.

I long dreamed about the rematch with Lucas Browne. Nash out.
