    You're welcome!
Tate was even close to being worthy as Holmes, nor as talented or had beaten better fighters. Where to you come up with your delusions?

I going to support the Holmes over Tate argument here . . . Weaver takes Tate's WBA title a full year after losing to Holmes (for the WBC title).

That boasts in favor of Holmes as being the heir apparent for the lienal title.

He seems to have fought the right people at the right time even if they weren't ATGs.

Plus Tate's win over Coetzee doesn't hold more or less validity over Holmes's, Norton.

Anyone know who held the IBF title at this moment or does it come into existence with Holmes claim?

I don't see a Coetzee fight, did Holmes draw a 'color line' against aparthied?

P.S. Weaver was a true journeyman (and a brief claimant) with multiple loses to some big names and even a few wins over same. Quite a career.

        - -Weaver grew up about 50 miles northwest of me and aptly named by the impressively built Norton as the true Hercules. He remains a fan fav today.

76 Olympic Bronze medalist Tate fought two Cold War Communists in 76 that the US was waging the Cold War against. Then he goes to SA who was always an ally of the US to become the first to dethrone Coetzee, both infinitely better than anything Holmesy ever did in his protected career. Yup, Holmesy drew the WBA color line from his inception that included several lucrative multi mil fights.

Holmsey one of the architects of the IBF.

Me'n Lar ain't never gonna get along, but I'm told his family loves him, so there's that.

Holmes was supposed to fight Coetzee. It was signed but fell apart due to money from the promoters if I remember correctly. Holmes was very much against apartheid. Holmes also beat Shavers in 79 who beat Norton to get the fight, which is why the Norton rematch didn't happen.
