Bob Arum Reveals 50/50 Contract Sent By Mayweather for Pacquiao Fight

GhostofDempsey hijacked a thread to talk about this, so it's not fair to continue with his shenanigans there. I welcome him here so he can discuss Bob Arum's quotation:

This is their lawyer who prepared this, sent copies to everyone. … This isn't something I wrote and passed out. Their lawyer did this and sent it to us."

Apparently, he believes Arum is lying and that there was a secret scheme between Mayweather, Kevin Iole (who also saw the contract), and Bob Arum to lie about the existence of this contract to undermine Pacquiao. I'd love to hear his reasoning for this. Have at it!

That contract went back and forth, it didn't include the blood testing in the initial rounds, it was added in later. That's when Manny said no deal. Floyd kept moving the goal post and adding more demands. Schaefer himself said there was no 50/50 agreement, so it doesn't matter what senile old Bob said. It's odd that you cherry pick this one quote from Arum where you suddenly believe him. At no other time do you Manny-haters ever believe Arum. Just this once, when you are taking a quote without full context.

Schaefer said he met Arum shortly before Thanksgiving in 2009 to discuss parameters of a deal, but said he didn't remember sending Top Rank a completed contract for signature that included a 50-50 purse split.

Schaefer said Pacquiao's reluctance to accept the drug testing Mayweather was demanding in 2009 was "a deal killer." Still, Schaefer told Yahoo! Sports he didn't recall offering a 50-50 split, but said that even had he done so, it wouldn't apply now given what has subsequently happened in the fighters' careers.

"It never happened, but for the sake of argument, let's say that the 50-50 split was offered back then," Schaefer said. "A long time has passed. Let's say that I wanted in 2009 to hire you and I offered you $100,000. We didn't sign a contract, but now, I come to you and said, 'Kevin, I know now you are worth $200,000. You are more accomplished and more famous than you were in 2009, but remember that contract I offered you in 2009 where I said I would pay you $100,000? Well, I want you to sign that now.' Like I said, I don't think that ever happened, but if it did, circumstances are vastly different now."

So now you believe Arum over Schaefer??

We know that Manny said no deal because he might have to give 2tbsps of blood 15 days before the fight. LMAO.

We have people from all three sides saying this 50/50 contarct existed. Mayweather, Arum, and a neutral, Kevin Iole. Iole claims he saw it with his own eyes. Arum is seemingly referring to it as if it is present in his hand when giving the quotation.

SO again, what do you think Arum was referring to in that quotation. Think he made it up? You going to accuse him of being Senile again? Why would Arum lie about it? Three against one....and I know why Schaffer would lie. It's clear in the article. Look at your quotations above and what they are concerning. They were moving away from the 50/50 split.

I am not the one who hijacked a thread you cvnt. Anyone with half a brain can see that.

Here is another Arum quote from 2009 regarding that same contract and why it wasn't accepted.

"We appeased Mayweather by agreeing to a urine analysis at any time, and blood testing before the press conference and after the fight. Mayweather pressed for blood testing even up to the weigh-in. He knew that Manny gets freaked out when his blood gets taken, and feels that it weakens him. This is just harassment and, to me, just signaled that he didn't want the fight." ~ Bob Arum.

Do you believe Arum now?? Or just from that one cherry-picked quote that lacked the full context?

Yes you did. And now you are trying to hijack it with a conversation about Jeffries, you "twat."

If you want to discuss who ducked whom, make a thread about it and stop trying to hijack this one. Your hi******* tactics won't work here. I can tell you about all the times Mayweather reached out and they said Nope...but that's not what this thread is about. I can also tell you how your quotation is obviously false because Mayweather offered a 14 day cut-off, but that's not what this is about.

Stop hi*******. Do you think Arum was lying when he basically said, "Here is the contract they sent us right here," or do you believe he was Senile

Manny had an adverse reaction prior to a Morales fight, since then he was reluctant to give blood so close to the start of a fight. He initially agreed to 30 days prior, and then 7 days, still that wasn't good enough. It was more goal post moving and harassment.

Rumors of continued negotiations fluttered throughout the boxing scene for much of 2010 without so much as agreement that they were even happening, much less anything that would finally land Mayweather and Pacquiao inside the same ring.

Arum told in June that all issues, including drug testing and purse splits, had "been resolved," while Mayweather's team vociferously denied that the sides were even speaking. Obviously somebody was being ******* with the truth, and HBO Sports president Ross Greenburg eventually found his way into the fracas, joining Pacquiao and Arum on the negotiations-are-happening team.

Denials are one thing, but then-Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer's response, per , really took things to a whole new level. "If Ross [Greenburg] or Arum wants to go through a lie detector test, we can arrange that," Schaefer said. "I can only tell you I have regular contact with Al [Haymon] and Leonard [Ellerbe] and there were no negotiations going on."

September 2010: Mayweather Makes It Ugly (****)

This one won't go down as one of Mayweather's finer moments. So much of his "Money" persona is a carefully constructed marketing ploy to develop love and hatred among fans and draw them into buying his fights. He's not a true bad guy, but he sure looked like one in a racist, profanity-laced video released via UStream in September 2010, per :
As soon as we come off vacation, we're going to cook that little yellow chump. We ain't worried about that. So they ain't gotta worry about me fighting the midget. Once I kick the midget ass, I don't want you all to jump on my d---. So you all better get on the bandwagon now. ... Once I stomp the midget, I'll make that mother f----- make me a sushi roll and cook me some rice.

Yikes. Floyd would issue an apology the following day, stating, per , that he doesn't "have a racist bone" in his body and was "just having fun," but the damage was already done by that point.

So here we have Schaefer calling Arum and Greenburg liars...the same Arum you believe in your quote, so which is it, was Bob telling the truth or was he a liar?

We also have Kevin Iole covering for Floyd, allowing him an out for his racist comments towards Manny. Seems Iole is okay with Floyd's racist comments, Iole the Manny hater who thought that when Manny was robbed against Bradley it was good for boxing.

Stop trying to hijack my thread. We already know that Mayweather offered a 14 day cutoff, and when that was declined, he immediately said he won't offer any more cut-offs. Then Pacquiao came back with 7 days. lol. Way to go!

Now tell us what Arum was referring to when he basically said, "Here is the contract." This thread is about whether that contract existed based on the evidence. You still think Arum was Senile, Mayweather was a liar, and Kevin Iole was a part of a scheme with the senile man and the liar? Let me know, bro. No more hi******* for you!

You offered no evidence dipshyt. Just an incomplete quote from Arum, and the word of Iole and Mayweather. I told you many times before...SHOW ME THE CONTRACT!

As I told you several times now, that contract got kicked back and forth in late 2009. Each side adding something and wanting changes. Arum finally got frustrated when the blood testing issue was being pushed. This was not some clear cut 50/50 contract, there were other demands being added until negotiations finally broke down. Arum ultimately blamed Schaefer...the guy who said he never sent a 50/50 signed contract.

                    More cvnt behavior.

You quoted Arum and left out the rest of the text that followed. The part about Schaefer saying he doesn't recall ever sending a 50/50 signed contract. You also left out the part where the contract was not finalized because of additional demands placed upon Manny to submit to blood testing. That's pretty much it, case closed.
