    Boxer quotes thread

Post some of your favorite quotes from boxers. There are so many great ones, but I'll start with this one I found today.

'There's too much violence in the world, most of it perpetrated on me by Sugar Ray Robinson. I came at that guy with a vengeance. He came at me with punches. Robinson opened everything I had that was closed, and closed everything that was open. But there was one thing you could say about me as a fighter—I kept my head. I lost my teeth, but I kept my head.'

Frank Craig - " Say you are a hard working married man, and you go home tired and hungry to find your supper isn't ready and you know it could have been ready, and there's no excuse. I guess for a time you're going to feel pretty bitter against your wife. But your bitterness if toffee compared with the bitterness, of the blacks against the whites--at least, in America. So the colored boxer went into the ring, and goes into the ring today, for "victory or death". The white man is not so keen. The Englishman, indeed, has little to no feeling against us. This is one reason why the black man wins: He has tremendous goad behind him."

"The hero and the coward both feel the same thing, but the hero uses his fear, projects it onto his opponent, while the coward runs. It's the same thing, fear, but it's what you do with it that matters."
