Defeating Haye certainly won't hurt his effort but it doesn't seal the deal.
Because there is no one else in the division that will be remembered in 20 years time. His best hope is for Haye to beat Vitali and then Wlad knock him out brutally that would then be a big win. In a few decades time no one will remember who most of Wlads opponents where, A bit like Larry Holmes but Holmes did have a few big name wins such as Ken Norton. If Haye could beat Vitali it would be a mega fight, infact Wlad might get even more credit if he was to lose to Haye then beat him twice in the rematches. Wlad just needs a big name prime opponent and there are so few out there.

And don't say Wlad will never be a ATG, due to getting beat by the likes of Sanders etc. Lots of ATG's have had bad defeats including Archie Moore, Joe Brown, Harry Greb, Jack Dempsey Jake Lamotta, Kid Gavalin, and I could go on. All these fighters had early defeats and setbacks numerous times and come back, and thats what counts how you combeack.

Wlad is as dominant as ever, and at the moment is just destroying the best out there and making former world class amatures look like novices.

In my book with a couple of more defences and dominance he will be a ATG. But I dout the USA will accept this due to him not being from the USA,a due to him not being exciting. But Boxing is all about Hitting and Not Being Hit.

This is not a troll, but I just feel Wlad deserves more credit and I really feel is on the verge of being a ATG.

i dont think the klits will be appreciated till they retire.kinda like larry holmes.you absolutely have to consider them atg's based off the fact there is not 1 heavy that you can say these guys couldnt beat.only heavys i would favor over these guys are lewis, ibeabuchi,an bowe.i would favor tyson over wladimir but not vitali

Difference between Wlad and the names you mentioned, and you could add so many more, is that they had many great wins on their record that allowed you to balance the losses.
Wlad has only wins against poor or washed up opponents. The problem is we are seing people such as Chagaev fight and beat the same rubbish and then Chagaev gets rated far higher than his rudimentary skills warrants.
So when you see Wlad lose to poor opponents you can't help but think any quality HW will beat him unfortunately there are none out there.

Fight people who aren't 3rd rate hacks like Sam Peter and Ray Austin. Get in the ring with somebody who didnt start their career as cruiserweight yet still take 10 rounds to knock them out. Get hit by a punch and dont wobble or go down. All things he can't do and won't do.
