Joe Louis would behead Holmes... Holmes struggled throughout his career with a number of opponents and was very lucky to get the nod in the majority of fights, Williams, Bonecrusher (1), Witherspoon, Norton, was all very fortunate victorys for Holmes, he was also rocked very badly in his fights with Arrington, Snipes, Shavers, Bey and Berbick... Louis would have no trouble knocking out Holmes

Just back to the topic of jabs which was touched on early on, Patterson had the fastest, followed by Ali and Holmes. This was before Tyson and Holyfield were about so they weren't included.

Earnie Shavers said Ali's was faster than Holme's and that was a post prime 1977 Ali. But he felt that Holme's was more accurate and powerful.

Best jab of the lot for me was Holmes.

lol @ anyone who thinks Louis would destroy holmes. Holmes had a rock chin and inhuman recooperative powers. Best jab in the buisness aswell, with an awesome uppercut. He'd wear Louis down and stop him round 13-14.
