Top 10 most brutal KO's ever (help)

I'm working on something again, so i'd like to hear what you guys over here would come up with when the most brutal knockouts in history are compiled in a top 10 list. And it's of all time, so you can go all the way back to the late 1800s lol.

The knockouts must have some kind of significance, they must be well known as very brtual KO's(Morrison-Mercer and Louis-Schmeling come to mind) and if it's a 1 punch KO, it must be a very brutal one where the victim had injuries afterwards(Tyson-Johnson, Jones-Hill etc).

    Your input will be appriciated.

The one's that come up to my mind right this minute are:

Julian Jackson vs. Herol Graham. "OHHH NOOOO"
Hearns vs. Duran. Duran got hit with the CANNON...

And not a K.O., but that shot that Shavers hit Holmes with, I believe it was in the seventh round, I still can't believe Holmes got up. That was one of the nastiest sounding punches I have ever heard. **** sounded like a .300 Remington magnum. CRAACK.

Oh and Gatti vs. Gamache. That **** wasn't fair.

** Dempsey/Willard considered the most vicious and brutal as well as sudden. Dempsey not a legend yet and had to sign a waiver stating he wouldn't hold Jess responsible if injured or killed.

Jack laid back, assessed Jess's timing, and just exploded, resulting in a fractured cheekbone, missing teeth, and busted eardrum. Later on Jack added busted ribs, but Jess was so tough he just couldn't lay down even though he had no legs left, and kept getting up until he and his corner finally tossed the towel.

I'd put Spinks/Tyson pretty high. That right to the pit of the stomach Tyson put him down the first time was the punch that really did him in. He got up, but couldn't do a damn thing after that big right. We've all been there, but not so viciously by a big strong fast pro with superior timing and placement.

          My List

          10. Jones vs Griffin
          9. Tyson vs Spinks
          8. Lewis vs Rahmann
          7. Douglas vs Tyson
          6. Louis vs Schmeling
          5. Jackson vs Graham
          4. Patterson vs Johanson
          3. Marciano vs Walcott
          2. Hearns vs Duran
          1. Robinson vs Fullmer

All were between good fighters with descent chins, all were quite important fights and all looked sickening. i had trouble deciding between the top 3 but decided that despite all 3 having great chins and good fighters that Duran and Walcott were out of their prime while Robinson knocked Fullmer out while he was in his prime also it looked as good as the other two but he was backing up when he knocked him out. it shows Robinsons power being able to KO fullmer backing up with a lashing left hook

Great list bud. And that was probably the greatest left hook ever thrown by Robinson. You always got to watch out for those wiry dudes.

I always thought that Cooney KO1 Norton was awesome, however, I'm not sure where your cutoff line is as far as having significance. This may or not fit your criteria.
              Either way, here it is....

When it comes to brutality, Dempsey-Willard is the most brutal. There's no question about that. But I've had this discussion with several people. The memory of that fight is not really about the knockout(Heck, most of the time I can't even remember what finally ended the fight, Willard was battered troughout the execution) it's about the beating Willard took. But I don't know, I have to include this. What do you think, you would call this one of the most brutal "knockouts" ever?

lol that was my list from the top 10 KO's ever vid I i'll add a few those in there, but imo those knockouts right there are really the greatest KO's. Not neccecarely the most brutal. Such as the one from Robinson..beauty comes to mind.

I think I have to more open minded, this time they don't really have to be historical fights. As long as they aren't a couple of unknown Boxers that once upon a time beat each other up. Thanks Terry, I almost forgot about Cooney-Norton. It's still really hard to watch Norton take those shots.

Foreman destroys Norton. That last combination of uppercuts and hooks is brutal.

One of my favorite KO's, old man Foreman knocking out Gerry Cooney.

This vid has heavyweight champions (Louis, Rocky, Liston, Foreman, Tyson) who KO'd their opponents.

                    Lots of HW KO's.

Walcott knocks out Ezzard Charles to win the HW title.

Most brutal ending to a fight I've seen is the Baret vs Griffith knockout but I don't think you're looking for something like that. Baret died after that fight.
