As it is, we don't really have that much info on Tucan besides the old chronicles, a couple of faded footages and some gossips.

As it had been said, he was rather good, but how good, it is hard to tell(just like with many oldtimers).
The rumor went that his record is pretty much unknown since he mixed up official boxing matches with unofficial scraps in the basement of a local pub and some even say that he was a part of a bare fisted boxing ring. Another rumor had it that he would fight anyone for money and that meant blacks or fighting opponents that are couple of weight classes higher, but as it is, he is more of an urban legend, an epithomy of a little big man, fighting whoever he can get for whatever prizes.

Yeah.. read about that in the Sugar article. Good point, Brooklyn.

It's hard to say, all you really have on the guy is firsthand reports or heresay. Even Bert Sugar only wrote about him once or twice. Due to the time he fought, his weightclass (lightweight), and his many non-sanctioned fights (against blacks and guys in other weight divisions) it'd be impossible to say.

All I know is what I've heard and I've heard some amazing stories about the guy.

Naz KO anybody in 1 round except maybe a prime Ali. Ali might just make it to the 2nd...might.

If his full stats were on boxrec then you would find out that it is "Toucan"

He got that name apparently because he jabbed some poor ****er in the eye with his nose in the clinch in a bout. Got DQd for it. Can't remember who he was fighting, a ***ish lad I think but he never got a rematch.

I've never heard of this guy before, but thats me, last week I didn't know who Monzon was! Always looking to brush up and learn from guys who know more than I do. It's why I come to boxingscene.

Anyway, if I'm not being too dumb, tell me more. When was this guy fighting? How come you think he's so good? If anyone has any footage I'd really appreciate it.
