I just read up that alot of people considered Pinklon Thomas as the best Heavyweight at that time not including Larry Holmes so i am quite surprised why it never happened i think Thomas would of posed a few problems for Holmes in the jab department.

And speaking of 80s Heavyweights i remember seeing along time ago Tony Tubbs vs Rid**** Bowe i thought Bowe got a major gift decision in that fight i would love to see that again.

I think after the Cooney fight Holmes started to fade even though he fought good vs Witherspoon i still believe after one of his greatest performances against Cooney he started to fade.

Yeah Holmes did start to fade at the end. Maybe Thomas could have beaten him 84-85 but any earlier I'd pick Holmes. Holmes should never have lost the 2 fights to Spinks either.
Regarding a Holmes vs Lewis fight I'll have a little think about that and get back to you shortly.

I agree that Larry was on the downside post-Cooney, however I still think he had enough to beat any version of Pinklon Thomas. Just my opinion.

I think it depends on which Lewis were talking about, a young quick Lewis like the one who fought Ruddock, I think get's beat by decision or late stoppage and a bigger older and much better technically Lewis beats Holmes again either by decision or late stoppage.
