when I first starting watching mma, i was very unimpressed.
too much hugging and inactivity.
maybe i was used to boxing, watching strikes all the time
now it's kinda growing into me.
chuck vs silva was nice, it was a good ol' boxing rumble
and Spike is great as well, giving nice free fights.
I hope it stays this way.

Dana's running it into the ground.

He is turning the UFC into a monopoly. He has fighters that are signed that fight once a freakin' year for like 10,000 bucks. He is pretty much doing what Chelsea is doing in the EPL which is buying all the good players and even buying players that just sit on the bench so other teams cant get them.

Yep the guy who flips off his opponents before a fight, gets beat up and choked out by them and tries to attack them after the fight is over.

Also tests positive for coke and suckerpunchers people for no reason.

Guillard is entertaining yes but very unprofessional. I guess he fits in the UFC.

mma in general is pretty entertaining. i still like boxing more though.

one improvement i wish would happen sooner then later is the increase in skills. watching the ufc and such, of course you can tell they are tough and fighters. but the level of skill displayed, mostly in striking, takedowns, and strategic interaction is lacking quite a bit. the groundwork seems to be skilled for the most part. but things like striking, leave a lot to be desired.

and shows such as the ultimate fighter - show a lack of intellectualism among younger fighters. they do not seem to be too bright, IMO. tough - yeah, but bright - no.

Grappling is extremely complicated, but when you know and understand it, it is one of the most exciting things in all of sports.

There are more moves, positions and counters in grappling, any plays in every single play book in every single football league in the entire world combined.

That about sums up how deep it is.
