Port Vale manager Lee Sinnott has been sacked by the club after winning just two of the opening seven matches.
The League Two outfit were beaten 4-1 at home by Macclesfield on Saturday, their third consecutive defeat, which proved the final straw for the board.
As statement on the club's website said: 'It is with regret that the Club announce that Manager Lee Sinnott has been relieved of his duties at Vale Park with immediate effect.'
A section of Vale fans called for Sinnott to be sacked after Saturday's 4-1 home defeat to Macclesfield and the club's board wasted no time in acting.
