Most credible lists I have seen of top 100 ATG albums always have Liquid Swords rated about 20-30 spots higher than MMLP. SS LP is always rated higher than MMLP.

Liquid Swords is an album I can listen to for the rest of my life. MMLP is an all time great album but I stopped listening to it about 7-8 years ago.

I honestly wouldn't compare them. Liquid Sword is a bonified underground classic. While Marshal Matters garnered main stream media. Both are impressive but different textures of hip hop.
