If this turns into a major war for instance where we (europeans) get called into action too , I for one as a nationalist detest everything they stand for and will under no circumstance go and fight and give my life for them.

As long as you wouldn't expect anyone who disagreed with the principles of a government you did support to lift a finger for them either I don't see the problem. But then you gotta ask the very reasonable question why should anyone do anything else a government they didn't vote for demands of them either? Why should you pay taxes you believe will be misspent for instance? Or obey a law you don't agree with?

Myself I don't think anyone should be compelled to fight in any military action which isn't directly defending their homeland or home community but people got different ideas of what's involved in the social contract and what your responsibilities are as a member of a representative Democracy.

The underlying principle should always be that we should not expect anyone else to do anything we wouldn't do ourselves in the same position I guess.

But then you gotta ask the very reasonable question why should anyone do anything else a government they didn't vote for demands of them either? Why should you pay taxes you believe will be misspent for instance? Or obey a law you don't agree with?

I have given great thought about some of the points you made a while back, they came up in my mind and it was an interesting thought exercise.

I have wished many times that we in Europe should stop paying taxes until we get a serious immigration policy , that illegals actually do get send back to their homeland , that criminals who have been given our nationality get stripped and sent back.
That i have the right to choose if my tax payer's money is being used to either foreign charity or if we could decide to spend it on a beautiful park in the vicinity of where we live, that people can invest directly in their own communities.

In normal circumstances we should all be compelled to stick together and fight our battles , but the western world is at a crossroads and the trenches have become too deep to overcome.
