Is Boxing A Good Way To Fight Anxiety?

If a person was diagnosed with anxiety, will he still be allowed to continue with his boxing training? If yes, would it help him overcome his anxiety?

Only if you stay off the boxing forums.

On a more serious note, exercise and a good workout routine can help with anxiety. But that is for you to decide. Not everyone responds the same.

Yeah i agree with dempsey exercise can help with anxiety. Unless you have crippling anxiety then idk. Or if you got a big match and you get nervous during your ring walk then boxing might not be for you

YES!!! Trust me, when you're hitting mitts, the heavy bag, or sparring for 3 minute rounds, you're way too ****ing gassed to even think about things that make you anxious lol.

I lived with debilatitnig anxiety and depression, I had serious mental health problems and was living in a prison of my on psyche, but boxing saved my life.

The physical activity gives you a high that you can ride. Another ride arrives when you KTFO a mofo. Boxing 100% rids people of anxiety.

This, (where's the little yellow guy, pointing up?) great insight. That is why many fighters are warring in the gyms on the daily. It's not just about being gassed though. It's about the vision that you are building.

It's the only way to get rid of anxiety or whatever may be locking up your thoughts or weighing heavy on your mind. No time to think about nothin' except what is in front of you. Pure freedom, not to mention the pure adrenaline rush...........Rockin'

Train like a boxer even though you ain't one. It's a good mindset that absolutely helps to keep all sorts of crap at bay. Nothing wrong with keeping fit and practicing combos and keeping those feet light. Never know when you might need it and even if you don't you feel sharp and ready.
              It's a win-win-win, imo.

Couldn't have said it much better, man, any kinda physical exercise is likely to help or at least worth trying. If the anxiety is specifically concerned with confrontation or violence a martial art can be of extra benefit too, but mostly when folk talk about anxiety they mean it a more generalised, nebulous sense.
