Any of you used to play online poker? Any big wins/big losses?

    should be interesting.

Yes, I play on ClubWTP. I've won a few tournaments and placed in others. I think so far I've won $15 LOL. I have not yet played in the tournaments that, if you win, you can get a free entrance to a WTP event. I'd like to do that, but only if someone else pays for it because I have no illusions that I'd actually win or place in the top 9 at one of those events.

I'll tell ya a couple of tales.

One is that I was in a game where I had pocket AA, and the flop was A and two other cards... no connection, no close numbers, no nothing. Three separate suits.

I'm playing opposite a guy who had two diamonds - and not even GOOD diamonds, he had 2 7 diamonds.

This guy not only calls my raises, he even RERAISES me..... all in the hope that not only is the turn AND the river a diamond, but his crappy 2 7 holds up.

I was confused, and even stopped betting, thinking "WTF can he have???" and wondering if I was seeing things.

By the end, about £250-£300 real money ($393, Fat Yank) was in this pot. I wasn't betting big, but this dumb **** was reraising it, and I'm not gonna fold trip aces when there's NOTHING that can beat it.

I don't have to tell you what the turn and the river were.

I messaged him in the chat box, and said to him "I don't believe in being a bad loser, I always lose sportingly, but you really, really deserve to die of AIDS for that."

Another tale is that I'd been playing a while and kept seeing some things that were "su****ious". I messaged the company running it and asked if the games were genuine.

They replied to me saying that yes, they were genuine, and that the games had - I forget the exact wording, but words to the effect - an algorithm set so that everyone had an equal chance of getting decent cards every hand.

WTF??? What is that, if not "rigged" by its very nature? I'm sure you know as well as I do, that if you play poker in real life, sometimes you'll get **** no matter what you do, and other times you can't stop crapping the best cards no matter what. But they suggested that "luck" wasn't part of the program.

My biggest win in a single hand was about $4600-4700. I remember that moment very clearly. I tended to erase my biggest losses from my memory, but it definitely had to be over $1000 at minimum.

I rarely ever ventured into those caliber of stakes and only when I was running hot at the lower stakes for a while. Usually I'd sit with $200 at the 1/2 table, occasionally $500 at 2/5, and rarely higher.

The main reason I stopped was because I found poker requires a great deal of mental fortitude for long term success. Even great players can go on losing stretches that last days, weeks or even longer. And you need to be able to handle that without losing your head. Usually I was smart enough to identify that before it was too late and stop playing for a while. The best players would not usually need to take such long breaks from the game like I did, and can look at just what they have on the table now without letting their recent losses affect their play too much.

Hahaha. This reminded me of the loss that triggered me the most. It wasn't even close to my biggest financial loss but it just made me flip out lol.

We're playing 6 handed and I have Axhh. Forgot the kicker, but something 10 or better. I raise from UTG, player in middle position calls, all others fold.

Flop comes three hearts - I've got the nuts. I decide to check. MP bets big. I pretend to be thinking about it for a while and raise. MP goes all in. I call immediately. MP reveals 77, not even an overpair to the board.

            Turn comes a 7. River comes a 7.

            I was fcking livid.

              Unreal that ****, ain't it?

I sometimes play live games, and I hate to see bad losers, so I always be polite even in "WTF?" hands.

I was playing with friends a few weeks back and had one convinced I was bluffing non-stop, even though I wasn't.

He went all in on a hand against me with nothing.... saying "well he's been bluffing all night, so I thought he was then." Dumb bastard didn't seem to realise he'd still need SOMETHING to beat me with.

Oh, the worst bad beat I ever saw, in real life - I took a photograph of it - was some poor **** with AAAA............. going all in to a royal flush.

Pokerstars was rigged as hell. Sometimes when you went all in on a big pot in a cash game or cash tournament post flop, you will see the turn or the river freeze for a second before showing the card. That's because the RNG was trying to figure out who to FU.CK.

                I refuse to believe otherwise.

I remember a casino I played at, it had a "Bad Beat Bonus" on the night.

Some guy in a hand with me, there's £5 in the pot, nothing else - $6.56, Fat Yanks - and he goes all in against me with a full house. Except his full house is worse than mine.

Next thing I hear is everyone going "bad beat bonus"...... and they bring the **** £150 ($197, Fat Yanks) as a "bonus" for a "bad beat".

The ****** **** turns to me and says "I never get any luck". Then asks me how much I won in the pot. I told him £5.

He actually said that. "I never get any luck".... while counting his £150 he got for losing. Didn't even offer to buy me a drink, and I was too amazed by his reaction to say anything.

Oh yeah I was at a home game once where I had made a good hand, I forget what. Like a flush or something. I had to fold because clearly I was beat. My best friend at the time had made a full house. And the guy who dealt the cards made a royal flush.

Soon as that came out, one of the other players (not even a dude in the hand) started yelling. Accusing the guy of setting up the hand. Next thing you know, table gets flipped over and fists started flying.

It wasn't nearly high enough stakes to be that mad about it tbh I think it was some old bad blood boiling over or something, just had to be.
