    The Predator was lame!

Long time fan, enjoyed the first 3 films, but man this one was saturated with comedy, lacked believable reactions and emotion, the cgi was bad in most parts, and the story was all over the place and just dumb. Some scenes showed potential, but then gets taking away with wrongly placed jokes and just lack of fear from the cast. Everyones a badass.

Yeah seems to be a common theme with reboots of classics. for me nothing will beat watching predator original with arnie for the first time. That bit where it voice mimics "over here over here" was chilling.

There were a couple references to the older films that were nice touch but still. My thing is, if you have a mega monster killer like predator looking at you and you think your going to die, I wanna see tears, i wanna see real fear on your face. If you are a 10 year old kid and you see a guy take a bullet into his skull point blank, i wanna see that kid in shock, disbelief, crying etc. I dont mind the comedy they added, but it was literally in almost every scene. And the group of soldiers bond was too based on comedy that it felt forced and not authentic in some parts, among other things. Imo the first 3 films are all entertaining and well rounded. I even love the film with Glover. A little cheese but it had some intense scenes in it and was a thrill

I've been noticing they've been doing that with a lot of films lately. Solo (which was terrible) & Avengers: Infinity War had waaaaaaaay more comedy than I expected. There are other films I've seen lately where the lil jokes seemed to be coming faster & more frequently then you'd have expected. I think this is becoming a trend in bigger films.

Yea you are right about that. Some small bits of comedy are fine, but when u look at what made the previous movies soo good, it wasnt the comedy, it was the action, the tension, the hunt etc. To add to your point, I loved the first guardians of the galaxy movie, thought it had a nice balance. But the 2nd? I walked out after 30 minutes because of how cringey and flat and overloaded the jokes were. Some jokes were never funny but they stretched them out longer. Ruined it for me.

I just assume any reboot to be terrible. People will let me know if one is ever good but so far that hasn't happened.

I haven’t watched it yet but of all those negative things you’ve mentioned this one is what I hate the most.
