i agree, this is really unnecessary, why not remake a ****ty movie instead, if they're so money hungry they have to remake Gump i think instead of Jonah Hill it should be ben stiller, he can play a ******, Simple Jack in Tropic Thunder was pretty convincing, this time stiller really would win an oscar

The original was a cloying piece of syrupy tripe that had no business winning best picture the same year Pulp Fiction and Three Colors Red came out. I don't think a crappy remake can be much worse.
