i think the trick is on the instruction.. answer and follow the instruction as quickly as possible..

the last addition 123 + 5 somehow still on the memory which could easily be 12(R) 3 (E) 5 (b or d?) and is easily be red if you are asked of a color in a hurry..

Not sure about the numbers. I think they are just there as a distraction.
But yea, the "quickly as possible" part makes you rush, so when you're asked the question, you dont think, just choose. Its to do with not having time to think. Red/blue are the most obvious colours.
Just like a dog would be the pet most people would instantly think of. Apple the most common fruit. Or Justin Beiber would be the lesbian most people would like to set on fire.
