    [LMAO!] The Eastern Conference

I've been watching the NBA for about 6-7 years now and I'm wondering; has the Eastern Conference ever been this poor? There are four teams above .500 and half of them are only one game over. There is a serious dearth in talent.

Looking at the Western Conference there are 9 teams over .500! It is fucking stacked. The Heat just need to get past the Pacers to reach the finals

Probably have a chance at seeing a 35 win team getting a 8 seed out in the East.

Off the top of my head, I remember the Bulls in Jordans second season where he broke his ankle made it in with a 30-52 record. Same year he dropped 63 against the C's in the playoffs.

It is embarrassing. Teams under .500 should be barred from the playoffs. The Lakers would be around two games out of an 8th seed in the EC. You couple in having an easier schedule and they are looking at a 3th seed. As it stands they are sitting 14th in the WC

80-90s eastern conference was pretty strong.

Celts & Pistons won most of the championships. Lakers pretty much won all the others. Jordan's Bull's couldn't even crack conference championship, even though they had the greatest player of all time on their team.

90's had some super strong knicks, pacers, magic, heat and bulls teams.

East has been weak since you started watching, but it goes through peaks and valleys.

you do realize that sub-500 teams like the bucks have been creeping into the playoffs from the east for years? when teams routinely go 10 games over .500 and don't make it in the west. the fall of the celtics, pistons, etc. coupled with the rise of once-irrelevant western conference teams like the blazers, clippers, thunder, dubs, etc. make for some unbalanced conferences. and right now, pacers>heat

The East was REALLY bad in the early 2000s, when the Sixers and Nets were making the Finals. Probably as bad as it is now.

you mean when iverson was the scoring leader and MVP for the sixers in 01? if AI had one supporting player, they could have beat the Lakers with Kobe and Shaq that year. Arguably. He was the best player in the league that year. Game one by Iverson in the 2001 finals was one of the best individual finals performances any of us will ever witness. 48 points and pulled off the W, one of the biggest game 1 upsets i can remember.
