You have the right to believe whatever you want.

You do not have the right to impose those beliefs on others.

You should expect ridicule for certain beliefs if you disclose them around a group of rational, thoughtful people.

You also have the right to challenge any and all beliefs.

The Talmud, Mara Bara Serapion, Tacitus, Thallus, Lucian, and the Qu Ran all verified his existence and crucifixion .. I know the qu ran is a spiritual book but it's still a cross reference.
None of those you mentioned are historical accounts of Jesus.

Yeah mate, you're really smart and for all intents and purposes a prophet and I'm a dumb, misguided soul who knows nothing.

        Happy now? dumbass.

Barn, I was where he was 20 years ago. I went through my "spiritual" phase, reading things like the Yoga Sutras and things like that.

People like Strictly UG feel good because they think they have the answer, that's the satisfaction of religion or belief in god. It's that sense that you just KNOW, and everyone else is lost.

When in reality, you are escaping from reality. You don't care about the truth, you just fill your head with nonsensical jargon, and there's people that even make a living off of it.

Dipak Chopra comes to mind, con artists like him have made a living on praying on people like Strictly UG. It gives you answers to things where there are no answers.

Please man, as if i'm easily swayed. What make you think you have the right to judge anyone you don't know man? People like this disgust me so much, and it's so pathetic how they can't realize their own filth.

If I have a religion, It's peace, it's understanding, it's knowledge, it's open mindedness. I'm a ****ing human being, you can't define me. Nobody can.

We're only here for 100 years, and then life is over. There is no reason to bring anybody down. By doing so you only bring yourself down.

You only see what I choose to show you, You don't ****ing know me.

I don't support self righteous-ness in any form, just like the people I admire. Never once did I insult you or glorify myself as an individual, I have no idea why you're doing it to me when I'm just trying to share the things I've learned.

I'm not judging you, I'm judging what you have said and you have made some pretty amazing claims. You claim to know the answers we are all seeking, you claim to know god, what spirits are and that you live a spiritual life.

Yet when I ask or anyone else asks to define god or spirits or spiritual, you can't. You just go into the same nonsense all these other "spiritual" people go through and say "you don't know god, you don't know yourself, we are god, the universe is inside all of us, the universe is infinite, we are infinite" just BS.

I don't claim to be perfect, there was a time where I believed in god and then stopped but defended god, then did my spiritual thing. Then I told myself that the most important thing is the truth.

Where did the truth lead me to, to understand we don't have all the answers, and just because we don't doesn't mean we can make **** up. Just like you said, "I have religion and religion is peace" It's the same as saying "Ignorance is bliss".

Congratulations man, you found peace through blindness, well guess what, I want to see, even if it hurts when I look at it.

I've never been there sadly, so I guess I can't relate.

                      [QUOTE=Cuauhtémoc1520;13607629]

Really? Have you read your Bible lately?

So what makes you an authority and not them? You do realize that in the Bible it tells you to go out and spread the Gospel. That is one of the most important tenants of Christianity. That person was just spreading the word of God according to her.
Conveniently posting certain verses out of context is supposed to be some sort of reinforcement for an argument of sorts? The very fact you made this approach to my post shows me you aren't as familiar with the bible and or various aspects of certain religions.

As a matter of a fact you lose credibility, as anyone would lose credibility if they tried to convince someone of something without all the facts and without objectivity.

If you want to decipher the words of the bible to mock religion and to try and create some sort of hypocritical essence to religion/s, that's your problem, but don't expect people to take that approach seriously, not in religion, or anything for that matter. That's like trying to make an argument in sports with a ridiculously small sample size of data and expecting knowledgable fans to respect you for it.

What makes me an authority? Nothing. I never said I had any authority in this matter, I know what I was taught, and I know what I believe, nothing more. I am not better than anyone morally, and worse than many. Religion is a path, a means of guiding life with a certain moral compass, not an excuse to claim perfection, or for ego stroking.

The bible does encourage spreading the gospel. However, spreading the gospel, and "forcing it down peoples throats" are not the same thing.

I don't "spread" the word often at all, in fact most don't know my religion. Why? In part because I feel that it's a waste of time in this day and age, where society in general is so hostile towards religion. Another reason is because I simply am a flawed individual, a human being, a sinner, imperfect, I make mistakes, I have weaknesses, and I am wrong on occasion. Like everyone else, to varying degrees. That's for me to say, but who is anyone else to judge me? If someone openly states they don't respect/believe in God or a religion of sort, do you really think I am going to take them seriously when they try and "call me out" on my "faults as a christian"? I don't know, how much critizism would you take about something you consider yourself knowledgeable about from someone who is clearly an opinionated and bigoted non-believer from the outside looking in?

Your word would hold as much weight to me as my word would hold weight to Michael Jordan if I told him he was a garbage player and listed things he did wrong and right. He would probably just smile and shake his head, thinking to himself that a genuine response isn't even worth it, and that that person would just find out/figure out on their own later.

Just because you read the bible and can quote scripture doesn't make you an expert on the subject matter.
