    Not necessarily you dumbass.

What I find funny about idiots like Carolla, is that he says things like "Atheists aren't supposed to give a ***". How ignorant is that? If we were to live in a country where religion wasn't forced on you every day, then he would have a point.

It has nothing to do with Christmas or other religious observations, it has to do with religion and god forcing it's way into the science classrooms and into our government.

We have a constitution, and it's clear on where it's stands concerning religion. Yet millions of people want to make the Bible the official book of this country, or teach creationism in science class, or put "under God" or "In God we trust" on our money.

You know when atheists will stop giving a ***? When religious people keep their s fairy tales to themselves.

When I was younger I would constantly debate people, try to expose people of their hypocrisy, etc. (kind of like squeal or someone like that on this board does), but as I grew older I just don't care. I also have realized that religion is something that comes out of the hard times we as humans have always lived in. I understand religion is "necessary" for some people. like Marx said Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people.
I'm a non practicing catholic and i don't really know for sure what my beliefs are atm, but that quote by Marx rings very true. Religion provides a crutch for people to lean on and in this cunt of a world is that really the worst thing? Even if it is all BS? (as long as their beliefs aren't negatively impacting others)

Obviously theres so much more issues at hanse here, and I'm on 30mg val so I'm a confusing myself a bit

        I agree.

I would like to see atheists dispel the myths about atheism. The incredible mistrust and accusations thrown at atheism ,especially in America it seems, is insane.
The belief that atheists choose to deny gods existence, just so that they can do what they want and have no moral foundation is incredibly ignorant and insulting.
Or that atheists "dont believe in anything". Like they are some blank minded would-be serial killer.
Or that because they dont believe in an after life, they think there are no consequences for their actions. i e. divine justice. So they are more likely to go on a killing spree.
        Its super stoopid.

Atheists do need their way of dealing with godlessness understood. But im not a fan of Silverman or people who just focus on attacking religion. I think it makes atheism seem like a bunch of wankers.

i have never been a fan of organized religion so i do get carolla's point, but i dont really agree.

personally i have zero interest in being part of some kind of atheist organization, or any other religious organization for that matter. i feel someones relationship with God is highly personal and see no reason to let others tell me what to think.

others would love to organize though and thats fine too. whatever works for the individual, the lack of similar thinking in religion is why it doesnt interest me. if you could maintain the attitude that people dont have to agree about everything and there isnt any one truth it would be a good idea imo.

No one's dividing anyone, just people engaging in discourse. There's no master plan to pit against atheist against atheist, at least not one that I observe

actually there is. there is a concerted effort to rebrand atheists and all the people doing the rebranding are religious:

its the religious people's new way of stigmatizing atheists.

                its quite obvious.

and i was joking with beercules when i made that war criminal joke you banned me for. beerucles is one of my favorite posters and is a friend of mine here.
