it's not about outscoring, I only posted that as an example.. it's how a leader contributed to their team.. the main leader does get criticized when they don't show up or get out played by the other leader from the opposing team, no matter the position they play. I know Reese is not a scorer, but it's how she can contribute to her team in ways to make the team better. Just like when Reese has a game with 20 rebounds, the Reese fans would say "Caitlin Clark could never"...

And just to be clear, I do take your point. I think you're just saying that since they are the leaders (if that's even true - I wouldn't be all that surprised if Clark was only the floor leader but maybe Boston and possibly Bonner coming in might be leaders of Indy. I'd guess it's Boston or some shared duty), seems you're just trying to say the headlines will be sensationalized by just using the leaders' names, especially to play into the so called rivalry. But honestly I'm not even sure this is a headline. Probably just Madison writing it, whom I definitely don't expect to know anything about basketball.

Well she had 17 rebounds in this game, but no one would say she outclassed Clark on the boards. It just doesn't make sense.

It's clear to me that Clark's team outclassed Reese's team, but it wasn't a head to head thing for them so in my opinion saying one outclassed the other makes no sense. As for them both being leaders....they are both 2nd year players. Clark's position is naturally mentioned as a leadership position. She's the general, but she still has Boston, Bonner now, Mitchell, other players who were in the league before her to help. Who does Reese have? Cordoso, another 2nd year player who she came into the league with? Vandersloot who is probably near retirement? I guess you could call Reese a leader...but she is the leader on a team that to me looks like it will be god awful.


Bottom line for me is, Clark's game is probably most similar to Curry. Reese's game is most similar to Rodman (Rodman was a better shooter to be honest). Now if a Rodman led team ever played against The warriors, it would be very odd for anyone to say Curry outclassed Rodman just because they were the leaders. But you are welcome to your own analysis of it.

No one who watches basketball for the sake of basketball would ever say Clark outclassed Reese when they play two completely different positions and are two completely different players. That's like saying Curry outclassed Giannis if Curry has a good game and Giannis doesn't. What a dumb thing to say.

The Fever did outclass the Sky because they are a vastly better team that really stacked up with their additions this year, while the Sky's front office has a lot of work to do.

That being said, I'll be happy when the New York Liberty smashes the league again! Let's Go Liberty!

That's not the argument. You obviously can compare their value to the team. But saying she was outclassed makes no sense as she could have been doing fine at what her particular job is for her team. She gave them 17 rebounds. Yes she should have hit more of her shots, but if they are relying on her to provide the points, it's going to be a very difficult road ahead and I'm sure they know that.

Did Aja Wilson outclass Clark in their head to head basketball games last season? One game, Aja had 28points 9rebs 13-22 from the field. Clark had 13pts 11 assts 6rebs 4-12 from the field.
Why would you call that Clark being outclassed? She's not in there guarding Aja. She also contributed to her team with really good assists, much like Reese contributed to her team with 17 rebounds. They just both had off shooting nights. And Reese especially should not be expected to set the world on fire with scoring.

You don't prove anything in one game. But I've already stated that I believe Clark will be the best passer ever so I don't know why you are writing to me about it.
