                Idk anything about the region, but looking it up, the land they want to grab has a lot of oil reserves. Apparently they've been having a dispute over it for over 100 years, back to when Guyana was ruled by the UK. No oil production that far back but they had gold mines.

                  Thief got no real military.
                  Brasil does and USA will support them.

                  Venezuela has Soviet weapons, a large military.
                  Russia will support them if it can, if the need support.
