No it doesn't. Firstly the fact that existing vaccines designed to combat earlier versions of the virus are only slightly useful at preventing the spread of Omicron in no way negates the effectiveness they've already shown against both spreading and preventing seripous illness against earlier variants nor does it negate the millions of lives that have already been saved globally.
Besides, when the COVID response strategy was being devised and the original vaccines developed no one had a crystal ball. Nations around the globe were operating on the basis of the information available to them at the time and attempting to resolve the immediate situation not trying to guess what would happen a year or 18 months down the line. Ask any military or crisis planner about prioritsation of needs man.
Secondly whilst they do indeed seem to offer little reduction in transmission rates they do continue to very significantly reduce the already low likelihood of getting seriously ill or dying of Omicron in the the immune naive (those who are both never infected and never vaccinated).
That said if you ain't already vaccinated there's probably less reason to do so now than there has ever been in the past 13 months so if you held out this long it's hard to see why you'd change your mind now. It's still not guaranteed but it's looking increasingly likely that we're going be arriving at endemicity for COVID - or approaching it - over the course of this year.
And as for 'vicious haters' whilst you yourself have generally been pretty civil and I do my level best to maintain a courteous relationship with everyone, the same can't be said for many who share your beliefs... number of times I've been called a brainwashed moron or a cultist or even been accused of supporting infanticide or promoting genocide.... ain't like the absue is a one way strret man.
I joke around but I feel like nobody will ever know what would have been the best policy. If I had been in charge of the world? I would have used Siablo as a pin cushion for every possible vaccine.... ok seriously I would have vaccinated in the areas with the highest concentrations and probably monitered the other areas with the hopes that herd immunity would suffice. Its too early too tell, but its starting to look like what essentially happened is, herd immunity took hold in some areas, while areas that had a heavily vaccinated population might have the benefit of less intense illness to the virus. Time will tell...

Beginning to think dudes don't want to learn about this stuff. Anyway I'll just do block quote save some time rather than waste another essay on ya..
In general T-cells are both far longer lasting and broader spectrum (hell I think even T-cells produced by response to common cold have been shown to offer some protection vs COVID) : though it'l be likely reduced by greater genetic divergence.
Nice article here on the difference between antibodies and t-cells and their different functions or I can link you a video if you rather?

The media and Fauci was 100% guilty.
Let me explain. Leaving out information can be as bad as a lie itself. Or worse.
The media and Fauci kept saying "95% effective! 95% effective! 95% effective!." This is a misleading number that might as well be a lie. You are tricking people into getting a vaccine by making them think it's more effective than it really will be.
What they should have said is that "In the clinical trials the vaccine was 95% effective. But, it was tested on the wuhan variant. When this vaccine is available to you, the Wuhan variant will be gone and there'll be new variants. So really the vaccine will probably be much less effective than 95%"
It's the doctors responsibility to tell the patient the true efficacy of a treatment.
Let me now ask you this.
If a doctor told you to get an invasive surgery and and said it was 90% effective. And would never have to have the surgery again. But actually it was really 30% effective. And the surgery didn't work and you had to go under the knife again. Would you be upset?

To add, we still don't know why two heads of the vaccine program quit. Hmmm yeah this all sounds normal.
Oh and those pesky immune issues from to many jabs.

We will all grow old one day (unless we live a certain life not conducive to living long).
And there will probably be a disease waiting for me.
Until then.....
I'll be DAMNED if I'll let some weak assed ''virus'' with a 98.7% survival rate make me live my life as if I AM a sickly/old fck.
Selfish ?
Yup
