Booster jabs distributed in England for the pre-Christmas vaccination push are to be thrown away because of a , a leaked NHS memo reveals.

It is not known exactly how many vaccines will be discarded but it is likely to be “hundreds of thousands”, sources told the Service Journal (HSJ), which obtained the memo.

The memo, sent on Thursday from NHS England’s vaccination team to officials managing the 3,000 vaccination sites around the country, said some stocks would reach their expiry dates without being used. It urges them to try to use them up until the last minute before they have to be thrown away.

People make mistakes and not everyone is in complete control of their urges or what diseases they contract. The other big condition is age. Everyone is going to get old. That's a hell of a lot of people that the virus is having a field day with. The vaccines are reducing the numbers of death. That's not a political talking point it's fact. Herd immunity at least as best as it can get considering this disease mutates at the drop of a hat can be achieved through vaccinations. Less people die going that route. Omicron can fade away but currently Delta is still present. We don't know what will happen. As far as I can see if Delta diminishes it's mainly because more and more people are getting vaccinated and getting their booster shots. The last thing we need is if Omicron fades away but Delta or a closely related variant to it makes a comeback. Getting a vaccine is easy and safe. Yeah Omicron is weak but people are still dying. My advise for everyone is at least get vaccinated and kill off any variant that's out there that
a vaccine is effective against.

Yes. This whole discussion was started by someone claiming a jab coming in march for omicron would be useless by then. Reinfections mean it would be very useful if it's still the dominant strain later in the year.

Cases of reinfection with COVID-19 have been reported, but remain RARE. In general, reinfection means a person was infected (got sick) once, recovered, and then later became infected again. Based on what we know from similar viruses, some reinfections are expected. We are still learning more about COVID-19.

Naw man it will be cut and dry, the Pfizer CEO already settled this but vaxxed people don't want to hear it but it's a fact and that's all that counts.
