I always been *******, we never trusted big pharma, what the **** changed?

You can believe big pharma are profit hungry ****s yet still believe that vaccinations were the most effective way we had of tackling this shet. We've basically put profit in charge of our health so what else do you expect to happen in the event of the inevitable pandemic that epidemiologoists have been warning about since forever? Call me dumb but is it just possible that the companies saw that by pulling out all the stops to produce these vaccines they also could see stupendous profits? In theory it's win-win. Now that doesn't mean obbviously that we just take em at their word when they say we need em in perpetuity or that they've conducted appropriate safety testing or whatever, but that is precisely the pupose of our regulartory bodies tlike the FDA or the EMA or the MHRA. Funny how we trusted these instituitions (or their forebears) for decades and despite some **** ups and cut corners, maybe even corruption on the whole most medications we take work safely

It's fucked up that we got our medicines produced by private companies that got us by the balls but since that is what we've got how is it possible we could have developed vaccines and and manufactured them any other way? Public institutions simply don't have the capacity or experience to have done this, and absolutely not on a timeframe where they would have been of use.. I would hope it's a lesson learned but since it's been decided that we gotta have a society where everything is subservient to profit there's no other way it could have gone.

Weird I got some of the same people telling me that everything should be run by private companies cos governemnt can't be trusted also telling me that we can't trust big pharma... and honestly I kinda got a lot of sympathy with both statements but that kinda leaves us with a conundrum... if we can't trust pharmaceuticals companies and we can't trust Governemnt, and according to many folk we can't trust the FDA or any of the other regulatory bodies around the world just who can we trust to ensure that our medicines and vaccines are safe and efficacious? Social media pundits perhaps? Our favourite politician? Purveyors of dietary suppliments? Someone enlighten me...

I am fine with letting private enterprise solve the problems of the pandemic. What I'm not fine with is vilifying, terrorizing, scapegoating, blasting, and, destroying the lives of, people like me who have their doubts about big pharma and just want a little bit more time to find out what the LONG TERM safety of these things are.

Question to me? I don't. Your body, your choice man. Far as I'm concerned anyway. Your government and possibly some of your fellow citzens might see it different but that ain't my business.

Vaccine ain't like a panacea anyway is it? Lot better than nothing but it don't make you superman.

Aght fair game them. That's my biggest problem with all of this not the vaccine itself but people who want to turn me into a supervillan for not taking it, if you wanna take the vaccine that's your personal decision and I don't judge.

So all this blaming the unvaxxed and it turns out the 4 cases were fully vaxxed. Just lol.

Anyone else have a feeling less people will get these new shots? Something tells me about half of the US.

People tend to get me wrong on this - I post a lot because there's a lot of flat out fabrication from the antivax side aimed at scaring people into not getting vaccinated. It's the bad information I got a problem with, not peoples choice one way or another. Ms Koba's pretty strongly antivax though she's softened her stance a fair bit since she actually got pretty badly sick with it so I understand people's concerns perfectly. It was an easy enough choice for me cos another serious lung infection could leave me pretty much ****ed... and having watched my old man crippled by emphysema that ain't a chance I wannna take but if you're relatively young and healthy I can see why you'd be sceptical no matter what the numbers say.

Yeah. I ain't in favour of mandates either FWIW.... and I actually said at the very start of the pandemic I would choose to wait myself , let someone else be the guinea pig..

In the event though I was offered it early cos I was considered high risk and just went **** it, might as well get oit out of the way.

Not sure it makes a difference but I'm actually in kinda a minority even amongst most of my peers, most of my friends are kinda either on the festival scene, in martial arts or through the wellbeing / hippie community and vaccination ain't popular in any of em...

Has this affected you personally in some way then? Im kinda fortunate in that all the lockdowns and **** didn't really affect me that much and nor do I know anyone who it really ****ed up, cept maybe a coupla friends' divorces and seperations were hurried on a bit, but most of them woulda happened anyway sooner or later.
