    Boxing stance

So my coach keeps working with me on angling my body as much as possible and the stance for me seems very hard to keep but I used to be in a kickboxing stance since I trained that for a long time, does this just take Time for this stance to become second nature ?

Yes, could take a long time to get used to that. No different to when a coach wants a strong hand to be the lead and makes a natural southpaw fight orthodox

It might take time but it'll take longer than it should if you aren't throwing your punches correctly. Learn to throw your straight punches tight from that stance and you'll find that you're less inclined to start getting squared up.

Also, from a psychological standpoint, visualize that your opponent is really out to hurt you and you want to make yourself as small a target as possible.
