It all depends on the indidvidual, some guys develope faster than others. In my case, & this was back in the 80's, after 3 months I had my first fight. But I will say this, now a days fighters are developed more slowly & this being a rough sport, you should have patience and at least give it a good 8-12 months. That way you can be better prepared are you in the NYC area? if so come on down to where I train fighters :-)

For me it was just after a couple of weeks, my coaches thought i had the natural instincts + i punch very hard so not many people at my gym wanted to sparr me

Havent been @ the boxing gym in about 6months now, my coaches calling me still and saying how dissapointed they are in me not commiting to my potential and im only 22 so its not really 2 late yet but im really lazy even tho i always stay in shape, i see being athletic as more of a way for me to do maintenance on my body, i took up boxing in the 1st place to learn how to defend myself so was never in it to win it tbh

But i should probably get off my a$$ and keep grinding in the boxing gym, just havent been arsed to go back to boxing since i was there the last time
Also i smoke weed daily so cardio is extra frustrating especially now that ive been away for so long, but im still in good shape its just my cardio thats downright horrible

about 6 months. University championship for beginners in germany, so the competing level wasnt high.
Won the first fight, lost the second fight, due to overpacing myself. Had no energy left in the 3rd round lol.

Honestly after you feel comfortable sparring other good amaurters is when you should go amatuer people that jump right into usually get Ls on their records early.

a month or 2 before sparring in the ring. a year or so before an amateur fight

Fight too early, you won't get a lot from the experience, and it could even be dangerous
Fight too late, you'll plateau in your training. There are things you can't learn except by fighting

Depends from person to person, when is the right time
