    Am I to old

So I started going boxing 3 months ago I'm training 5 nights a week.

A few questions I need answering as I'm new to boxing.

    1) I'm 28yrs of age, am I to old to get anywhere?

    2) I'm 16 stone am o to heavy?
    5ft 11 inches

    3) I don't do any weight training, should I be?

I been watching a lot of boxers training videos and they do weights as well as boxing training and cardio, is it a must?

I want to fight in 6 months and keep it regular but worried I'm to old now past my hay day!

Any useful knowledge and experience welcome thanks

You should post this in the "Training and Nutrition" forum. People here on NSB are just going to talk ****.

Youre not too old to do anything, man. Are you too old to become world champion? Well, no ones ever started as late as you and made it that far. But Nate Campbell didnt start until he was 24 and went professional at 28, and he became unified champion. Just because something hasnt been done doesnt mean you wont be the first to do it.

    Good luck to you.

Thanks Paul for the vote of confidence.

Think k watch tom any you tube vids on mike Tyson lol

Watching how he trained and fought puts ideas that I could be like that but then he trained from 13 lol so I don't have a chance.

There's a saying, if you believe you can or can't do something you are probably right. If I was you I'd just focus on the how do you do this thing or that thing better at the place you're at in learning the sport of boxing. Don't worry about the can's or can'ts cuz lotsa mfers will love trying to downplay the things you accomplish by acting like its a forgone conclusion you could do it afterwards or telling you you won't do it when it becomes a goal of yours. And thats not even boxing specific, thats life. Fcuk those people. Just focus on getting better & learning bruh. Try to find someone you trust or is willing to take some time for you at the gym, ideally a trainer, to offer you some guidance on what you need to get you where you wanna be, in the ring, in 6 months. Outside of that there are tons of websites with resources nowadays. The aforementioned forum here is a good one. There are sites that offer advice & guidance to people like yourself. There are even Youtube channels that offer guidance on improving your boxing technique & training. Hell often when a big fight is coming up there'll show a 1-3hr media day training session on some sites so you can see what the elite in the game are doing. Good luck.

If you feel good, then go for it. Take it as far as you can. At least it will be a new adventure and you won't get to 40 and look back thinking "i wish i'd have tried it"

Even if you never become a top fighter, so what. You will still be trying something you feel passionate about, getting good exercise, meeting new people and going new places. Plus it might open new doors for you in other areas such as training within communities as you get older.

You will get people who will come along and say you're too old but they're probably sat at home in their mothers basement with callous on their ****s from beating off too much between their dead-end job.

Do what you want to do, enjoy it and live your life without regretting things you wish you had tried. You only get one life, live it. He who dares..wins.

It's never too late, you've just got to remain consistent and listen to your coach.

Also, I've heard a rumour you're fighting Danny Garcia in November, so spend some time working on keeping your hands up.

Yeah, stick with it for another 6 months and you'll probably get a shot at Wilder.
