Hey, I live in Scotland and am starting to get close to being carded. I have very mild short sightedness and while I'm told it's fine I'm just paranoid that I may fail the medical. I already filled in the medical form required to spar and compete but haven't been examined by a doctor yet.
I had an eye test last month which brought up very mild short sightedness with mild astigmatism but the optometrist said my eyesight was very good. The only letters I struggled to read were at the very bottom of the chart and even then I got a few of them right. The glasses are mostly for going to university and even then I haven't needed them since I can see fine from the back of lecture halls. It's not caused any problems in the gym either as my punches are nice and accurate and nothing is blurry whatsoever.
Anyone who can give me insight into the eye test criteria for boxing able to put me at ease? I feel fit to box, have no other health issues or history of issues in the family and my short sightedness only really affects letters at long distance. Will I be able to pass the medical?
