I honestly think its been a significant factor in the decline of American boxing.
Floyd has a very fundamentally sound style. It's a throwback method though and there aren't many coaches around anymore that know how to teach it.

Tyson had good fundamentals too but if kids just try to copy him based on YouTube videos they aren't going to get anywhere either.

The problem in American boxing isn't in our styles. It's a lack of good, knowlegable trainers.

You're right about Floyd and that's what i was implying. Kids adopting one of these styles and trainers allowing them to run before they can walk so you end up with guys competing at the top amateur scene or young pros who are inherently flawed and lack basics they should have learned at age 12 or 14. Not many George Benton's to teach the inept Berto's of the world.

        Barry Robinson fails

He talks the talk, but can't walk the walk.

Watching film only gets you so far.

Also, he doesn't know how to utilize the philly shell stance properly.

The guy is living the life, just traveling to different countries training people in boxing.

He sure was a prick but that is a pretty sweet gig

Barry is simply walking down the smaller guy and applying pressure with his body not so much punches. Secondly everyone in the ring is "pulling" their shots.
I think its a waste of time but he doesn't so its ok by me.
Who's watching the younger fellows spar and giving them instruction?
I couldn't tell if they were given one or two specific techniques to work on or not!

As far as Barry sparring and "getting his butt beat" it looks like he could eat the kid if he was hungry.

It's silly as hell to hear people comment on spar sessions as if its a real fight, it goes to show what the average fan knows..........................NOTHING!

.....as for shoulder roll I prefer a "bear claw" roll with a little butter and hot
cafe' con leche' hmmmnnnnnnnnnn that's a roll!!! Ray.
It's the title of his video that's why. He said he got his ass whooped

He was eating punches with his hands down. Hope his black belt techniques were better than his boxing.

                  Cool video though.

Not entirely true. While some of our good trainers have passed there are still a lot of knowledgable trainers in our country.

The true problem is a pampered and coddled youth that has been materializing through the years. Kids today, generally speaking, have no 'grit'.

I can agree with that, Rockin'. Kids today are soft and act entitled.
