Anybody ever get a headache from sparring?

I did a few rounds with someone the other day and was getting hit a lot more than usual. None of it hurt but later that night I had a small headache. Is this normal?

Yeah, this happens to me, a lot at first, but not as much now. Seems like when I work with a new partner it happens. Trainers at my gym said it was common and gave me some neck exercises to do, not sure if they helped or if I just got used to it.

Yeah it happens, make sure you're drinking plenty of water to be hydrated and take some Advil if it persists. It happens to me if I take more than a month from sparring, but if I'm doing it regularly I don't get headaches often.

Pretty much what everyone else said. The more you spar, the better you get at taking punches as your neck and shoulder regions will grow stronger. Make sure you strengthen your legs too, allows you to take bigger shots.

Should be okay - you'll get used to it as your muscles develop. May lose a few brain cells along the way though

Drink some water and pour some water on your head for a cooldown right after your headache will go quicker.. Make sure you stretch your neck and jaw before sparring but most of all keep those hands up...

Hey, be careful, guys. Headaches are certainly a warning. Blows to the brain DO start premature aging.

The first time I sparred my head throbbed afterwards, obviously because you are not used to getting hit, but since we sparred two times a week I didn't feel much after a while

A headache? What, just from somebody slugging you in the face as hard as they can? I have never once experienced that................. Rockin'
