Could I backtrack my grandads amateur boxing record?

All the way back 1940s? I've never really look into but he had an impressive record in the amateurs and I'd like to find out more about him. From what I do know - He was undefeated in the amateurs and racked up an impressive record consisting 36knockout wins at lightweight (not sure how many wins).

Is this even remotely possible to find out??

theres no real amateur records database, like a boxrec for amateurs, that i know of. i know there are a few obscure sites that try to update the ammy stuff in their region, but i know they have a hard time going into the early 90s let alone the 1940s

Probably not. The only available records from boxers from that era are only pros.
